SCHL is a Crown corporation that functions as Canada’s national mortgage loan insurance and housing agency. One in three Canadians at one point on their lives has benefited from its services. As its name implies, part of its mandate is to aid Canadians in researching and accessing affordable housing as well as securing mortgage loan insurance for their housing purchase. SCHL also provides research information to businesses and other sectors of government about housing trends in Canada and in the world.
