About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the Manager, and under the supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant works with individuals, families, and groups to promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with their team, the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of interventions that have been assigned by therapists. The Rehabilitation Assistant also checks and cleans equipment, maintains treatment and storage areas, and may order necessary supplies. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio and to other sites as deemed operationally necessary.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 or GED
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Ability to communicate well with both patients and their families and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with team members
- Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Access to reliable transportation

Hours
- Long Assignment, Part-time position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly
- This position is approximately 14 months in length

Compensation and Benefits
$25.84 - $30.09 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
