What you do:
Reporting to the Director, Analytics on the Business Science team, the Senior Analyst is responsible for providing advanced data analytics for their respective internal client department, to always make the most fact informed decision making possible. This includes both deep understanding of key factors affecting past performance as well as predictive modelling & guidance for future opportunities. Roughly 80% of each Sr. Analyst’s capacity (along with their respective Jr. Analyst) will be focused on and guided by a Client Department Analytics Plan & Priorities (developed by the Director Analytics in consultation with Client SVPs). Balance of each team’s capacity (~20%) will be used to assist with periodic analytics work across other parts of BPI as determined by their supervisors and the ET.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Prepare reports and presentations on internal client department programs & business results by using analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Fabric, and Python. This includes forecasting and measuring program effectiveness and creating dashboards and other visualizations to effectively communicate results.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and insights to support client department decisions by assessing business questions and designing analysis across multiple disciplines to provide actionable insights.
- Manage forecasting process on marketing or menu initiatives including methodology and process.
- Analyze data and facilitate data integration into internal systems. Develop advance analytics to provide additional avenues of insights including predictive analytics, Machine learning and other statistical techniques
- Measure and interpret the financial impact of programs on revenue, seeking to understand root causes.
- Analyze & report on operational data including but not limited to: restaurant performance, geo-spatial analysis, labour, food cost & Guest feedback. Assist in design of guest experience survey to better analyze and maximize guest feedback. Includes making recos and providing support in making improvements to the system.
- Design and maintain data pipelines to collect, clean, and transform data from various sources into a structured format as needed for dashboard and report creation.
- Train & coach direct report on skills development, business knowledge and application of statistical/financial analysis techniques to ensure alignment with corporate needs. Coach additional BPI team members on data literacy, key metrics, and business terminology, providing technical problem solving as required.
- QA on databases as needed to ensure data quality, and as required for data governance stewardship role
Who you are:
- You have a Post-Secondary Degree in Finance, Business Admin, Statistics or Marketing
- You have 5-7 years of experience in Finance, Analytics or consumer insights role. Experience with consumer loyalty and e-commerce data would be an asset.
- You have advanced expertise in Excel and Powerpoint, data visualization tools (Power BI, Fabric or similar), SQL, and different analytical methodologies.
- You have strong critical thinking, problem solving, market research, attention to detail, collaboration, facilitation, and communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills.
- You are able to work with large unstructured data sets, think strategically, and influence decision making.
