YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for providing support to the Mobile Maintenance team by being accountable for directing the workforce in daily mechanical and electrical maintenance activities for all mining and mobile equipment, while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures. You will oversee the haul truck shop at the Detour Lake Mine. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Overseeing and providing expertise for all mechanical and electrical activities related to mining and mobile equipment maintenance
  • Leading and coaching team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets
  • Taking a lead role in recruiting and developing the Ultra-Class Haul Truck Maintenance Team
  • Developing and implementing standards and procedures that meet all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly maintenance reports
  • Scheduling and planning electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime
  • Engaging with contractor personnel and Planning Group to ensure alignment in terms of the planning, prioritizing and execution of maintenance work as well as coordinating the scheduling and use of available bay space according to changing needs of the mine site
  • Monitoring and auditing Wenco equipment downtime coding to ensure timely updates and accuracy
  • Collaborating with Reliability Group in reviewing equipment downtime data and formalizing strategies to optimize equipment availability.
  • Acting as the primary liasson between Mobile Maintenance contractors and on-site AEM departments and working groups to ensure required resources and support are identified, prioritized and actioned

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate is preferred

  • 10 years’ experience in a maintenance capacity

  • 5 years’ experience supervisory experience

  • Experience with open pit mining equipment, notably with Ultra class 795 and 798 Trucks is considered a strong asset
