About the role

Classification: Temporary full-time (until approx. May 2026)

The primary goal for the physician assistant is to provide clinical care to maximize the educational opportunities for post-graduate trainees in Urology. The physician assistant will reduce the number of patients needed to be assessed in any given outpatient clinic by post-graduate trainees which will allow them to take more time to learn around each case that is encountered, and to provide them to pursue other educational opportunities occurring outside the clinic.

The specific tasks include:

  1. Assess patients in Cystoscopy clinics and to perform endoscopic-based procedures and prostate-based procedures.

  2. Assess patients in outpatient urology clinics.

  3. Perform voiding trials for patients in the outpatient urology clinic.

  4. Assess patients in an Erectile Dysfunction clinic and perform procedures including non-invasive therapies and intracavernosal injection therapy.

  5. To provide surgical assistance in the main operating room when there is no post-graduate trainee available to provide surgical assistance.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Current Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Certified or awaiting test results through the Physician Assistant’s Certification Council (PACC) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
  • Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment
