THERAPEUTIC RECREATIONIST (25-0000619)
Bargaining Unit: SEIU-HERITAGE
Status: TEMPORARY Part time
Site: St. Joseph's Heritage Bethammi Nursing Home
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends
Rate of Pay: $25.37 - 26.99 per hour
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies with Therapeutic Recreation course content (Therapeutic Recreation specialization) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience working with senior clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease and behavioural issues
-
Specialized experience or certification may be required or desirable for some positions; Current First Aid and CPR, Class F license, Driver's Safety Program, Safe Food Handling Certificate, etc.

GPA and P.I.E.C.E.S training an asset

Demonstrated eligibility for registration with Therapeutic Recreation Association (TRO)

Demonstrated regular attendance at work is required
Preferred Credentials/Affiliations:

Professional member in good standing with TRO

Membership with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association or similar related associations
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
