The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill a permanent, full-time Lifeguard 3 Instructor (PM) position located in Grand Forks, BC, reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Recreation.

Lifeguards perform skilled lifeguarding and instructional work, ensuring a fun, clean and safe experience for the community. As part of the Aquatics team, the Lifeguard Instructor 3 is responsible for assisting with community swimming, water safety programs and AquaFit programs. Working in a team environment, lifeguards will demonstrate courtesy, tact, diplomacy and customer service skills in dealing with the public as well as coworkers. Joining an established team, the Lifeguard Instructor 3 will play a key role in supporting the success of our programs and enjoy working with other community-minded recreation professionals.

This position will suit candidates with lifeguarding, class instructor and first aid qualifications. The preferred candidate will enjoy working in a busy and diverse organization where they engage with the community and support a great community service.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Minimum 17 years of age

  • National Lifeguard Pool certification

  • CPR C certification

  • Swim Instructor certification

  • Lifesaving Instructors certificate

  • Fitness Instructor

The successful candidate will also be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check.

Hours of work: 20 hours per week, 4 hour shifts typically start at 4/4:30pm

Compensation: $31.13/Hour (2025)
