About the role

Located in the heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Applications are invited for a Temporary Part-Time Professor, Dental Programs in the School of Allied Health, Health Sciences Division. The position will commence September 2025 at the Welland Campus.

Reporting to the Associate Dean School of Allied Health, this exciting role requires the candidate to deliver a variety of specialist courses in the Dental Hygiene Program. The part-time professor is responsible for providing an effective learning environment for students. This includes designing, revising, and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with stakeholders (faculty, community, and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilizing a variety of instruction medium /resources; and providing individualized instruction where necessary.

Required qualifications:

  • A diploma in dental hygiene
  • A related Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist eligible to practice in Ontario
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical dental hygiene experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster / support the same with their students and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated networking/relationship building and liaison abilities.
  • Evidence of commitment to student success and academic excellence

Preferred candidates may also possess:

  • Membership in ODHA and/or CDHA
  • Two years of post-secondary teaching or training experience
  • Experience in curriculum design and development
