Position Summary
Working as part of a team, you will be the initial point of contact for staff and customers/partners with technical issues or concerns via phone calls and helpdesk tickets/emails – including onsite visits within the greater Edmonton area. Various project work ensures a constantly evolving environment – and there will be exposure to assorted facets of our IT infrastructure.
This is an in-office position Monday to Friday with after hours and rotating on call evening and weekend as needed.
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Triage notifications from monitoring systems.
- Monitor systems manually as per policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues - aiming to resolve most items, with an escalation path available when needed.
- Identify recurring issues and determine solutions.
- Handling Moves/Adds/Changes of users and end user hardware.
- Creation of documentation and help guides, including instructional videos.
- Asset procurement / inventory.
- Supporting industry specific and custom-built applications.
- Maintain data integrity in RIS/PACS, ensuring data integrity is always paramount.
- Assist our customers (patients and physicians) with specific technology issues.
- Participating in a rotating on call schedule (one-week rotation).
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of Windows desktops.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Qualifications
- Intermediate understanding of server technology, as well as network topology and concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN).
- Familiarity with PACS and/or RIS (Radiology Information System) is desirable but not required.
- Desirable systems experience: Scripting, Office 365, Interfaces, Virtual Fax, VOIP PBX, PaloAlto/HP/Cisco Networks, Encryption, Linux OS, MS-SQL, VM’s, MDM.
- Ability to do afterhours work, both on a planned and unplanned basis.
- Maintain information privacy and system security while fulfilling duties.
- Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
- Technical training/certifications or 2+ year previous experience.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Successfully Complete Alberta Criminal Record check.
