Description HITACHI RAIL STS, Canada is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented BIM Specialist Engineer with a strong foundation in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and a working knowledge of telecom systems. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) who will lead BIM coordination for infrastructure projects, while supporting the integration of telecom components into the digital design process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage BIM models for infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate BIM workflows across all project phases.
  • Support clash detection, model validation, and quality control processes.
  • Coordinate with telecom engineers to incorporate basic telecom infrastructure (e.g., cabling, devices, racks) into BIM models.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes and digital project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for licensing.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM methodologies, standards (e.g., ISO 19650), and digital coordination practices.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of telecom systems (e.g., fiber optics, RF components, network layouts).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in infrastructure or transportation projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Experience in railway or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with telecom system documentation and integration in BIM environments.
  • BIM certification (e.g., BIM Specialist, BIM Coordinator).
  • Exposure to digital twin technologies and data integration strategies.
  • Clear Criminal Background check.
