The Manager, Client Leadership, is a key media partner for our clients. They are the expert on the client’s business and a leader in media strategy for the client and internally with the agency. The CL Manager has a strong working knowledge of the media landscape and available media research. This role manages the account team resource to deliver on key client objectives.
As the Manager, Client Leadership, you will work closely with the client to understand both long-term objectives for the year ahead and short-term campaign needs. You will work with the Director and relevant Media Planners and Buyers to provide annual strategic media recommendations, ongoing updates on media trends or landscape and provide guidance on best practice to your media team.
Key areas of expertise and responsibility Media:
- Supporting the Director, Client Leadership to develop strategic direction of the client’s business and detailed media plans
- Provides leadership to the rest of the team, in terms of client strategic direction, recommendations and overall team development
- Supervises the media planner / buyer, media buyer and media coordinator on deliverables for the client’s business, ensuring they are in line with client briefs and objectives
- Accountable for media plan output: blocking chart, MPAs, timelines, accuracy, and overall excellence
- Responsible for budget control management, reviewing team’s updates
- Overseeing deliverables on media and managing team workload
- Providing support / problem solving for team
Relationship with team and clients:
- Building trusting, collaborative relationships with clients, team and partner agencies at appropriate levels
- Leads presentations with clients and supports team in their presentations
- Manages expectation of client deliverables, ensuring team meet deadlines
Research:
- Knowledge and understanding of key media tools – Lens, Comb, Comscore, Video Planners, Google Ads Manager, Meta planner, etc and terminology CPPs, GRPs, CPMs, KPIs, CTRs etc.
- Expert on using audience insights / media insights and lead strategic recommendations
Reporting:
- Reviews the reports put together by the team and offers feedback and guidance
- Ensures reports are delivering on client KPIs / objectives
- Manages deliverables and deadlines
Experience / key skills:
- Significant media experience across channels (traditional and digital)
- Previous agency experience considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills, project management and communication skills
- Analytically driven and Deadline focused
- Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience managing complex blocking charts
- Experience managing complex budgets, invoicing, accruals, and BCRs
- Communication between different internal teams ; Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications; Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner
- Organization, keeping multiple projects on-track, structuring and executing work
- Proactive problem solving / anticipating client / team needs
Additional Information The salary range for this position is $80k-$85k. Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills. A range of medical, dental, RRSP, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available to all permanent employees.
