The Ministry of Social Services’ Housing Division is seeking a professional, collaborative and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills for the position of Research and Information Management Analyst.

As part of the Program Effectiveness Unit, you will be part of a team that ensures programs and services are effective, efficient, and support the Ministry's strategic direction and improve client outcomes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate, conduct, and report on the results of reviews concerning the operations of the largest Housing Authorities in the province, and other provincial housing programs.
  • Undertake research and data analysis to evaluate outcomes that link to broader Social Services and other government initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze, evaluate, develop recommendations and report back on findings.
  • Report on various programs for compliance with established parameters of Federal and Provincial agreements.

You will have knowledge of:

  • Program/policy evaluation techniques and performance measurement.
  • Program delivery systems and governance structures.
  • Proficiency in Excel related to data analysis, forecasting and techniques including both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Government structures and third-party sources of data (social, demographic and economic) and accountability processes.

You will have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Consult/work with other organizations, colleagues, and individuals to develop positive working relationships, policies and protocols, address issues and establish partnerships (interpersonal).

  • Conduct data quality assessments and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with policies and programs (leadership).

  • Apply information collected to develop, implement, and evaluate programs, policies and/or procedures (analytical).

  • Design, develop and select research methodologies (including surveys, focus groups, interviews, literature reviews) and apply appropriate statistical and analytical techniques (technical).

  • Provide, obtain and exchange clear and accurate information, verbally and in writing in both formal and informal settings to a variety of people (e.g. colleagues, service providers, ministry) in a manner appropriate to the audience (communication).

    Typically, the knowledge and skills for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree or a post-graduate degree in social sciences, public administration or a related discipline and/or several years related work experience.
