Aramark is recruiting a General Manager to manage our foodservice operations and oversee environmental services at a Senior Living facility in Toronto. The candidate must be an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).
Reporting to the District Manager the General Manager will be responsible to meet the growing needs of delivering a best-in-class hospitality service to the residents, families, and clients whom our teams serve daily across a defined group of locations
The role will be responsible for delivering resident and family focused services, building strong and enduring partnerships with our client/s and the community, and creating a culture of customer service and accountability.
Job Responsibilities
• To deliver a best-in-class hospitality service across all services every day by developing the strongest teams and best relationships. The priority will be to ensure the highest quality of experience for residents whenever they dine and stay in our facilities.
• Provides vision and direction to the onsite management team and staff to ensure the attainment of organizational and client objectives and goals with a focus on Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Establishes and maintains open channels of communication between senior clients, management team and support departments to ensure "best in class" customer service and satisfaction.
• Has a thorough understanding of provincial and federal legislation related to seniors living including but not limited to Ministry health standards and accreditation programs? Responsible for the successful execution of all standards.
• Participates in the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse talented management team to deliver on service and operational needs
• Serves as an integral part of the organization creating strong partnerships amongst all key stakeholders
• Ensures the accounts meets client service, financial, and quality objectives and enforces policies that guide and support the provision of Hospitality/Environmental services and assures compliance with all Provincial and National regulations.
• Monitors financial/non-financial results in all departments to achieve company and client objectives.
• Initiates and directs training and development programs for all levels.
• Responsible and invested in capital planning process to constantly evaluate and look for ways to improve.
Qualifications
• University or College Degree or Diploma in hospitality or business administration
• Must be an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
• 5 years + experience leading a large team in a hospitality environment, ideally across multiple locations
• Ideally 2+ years relevant leadership and general management experience in a healthcare environment
• Experience managing in a unionized environment would be strong asset. Important to be well versed in progressive discipline methodology, understanding of documentation requirements which are commonly found in Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA’s).
• Proven ability in analyzing financial statements, operating reports, budget variance reports and other financial statements
• Proven or demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain a strong and diverse team within a dynamic work environment
• Proven or demonstrated ability to respond effectively to changing demands
• Proven or demonstrated ability to build and establish internal and external relationship at all levels of the organization including senior levels of management
• Excellent knowledge of regulatory issues such as WHMIS, OH&S, and infection control
• Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
