We are looking for a health data professional with experience in hospital or community care sectors to join our team and contribute to advancing patient care.
About the job
In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of financial and statistical data standards to support evidence-based decision-making across the health system, with a focus on hospital and community sector settings. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, provide expert policy advice, and guide the strategic use of financial data to enhance program and service delivery.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and provide expertise on the development, maintenance and enhancement of financial and statistical data standards (i.e. CIHI MIS Standards, Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards etc).
Build and maintain business partnerships with key health system stakeholders and lead stakeholder consultations in the development and implementation of financial data standards.
Conduct the research, development and evaluation of strategic financial and fiscal policies, best practices and performance standards to support complex program and service delivery priorities.
- Provide advice on the collection, reporting and use of financial data (i.e Ontario Healthcare Financial System, Healthcare Indicator Tool etc).
- Provide financial policy expertise and advice, prepare a variety of correspondence and deliver presentations to senior management.
What you bring to the team
Health Data and Information Management:
- You have knowledge of financial and statistical standards and financial reporting practices (e.g. Ontario Health Financial Reporting Standards, CIHI's Management Information System Standards) within the health system.
- You have knowledge of the Ontario's health system, its mandate and the linkage to other health system related organizations.
- You have knowledge of program and financial policy analysis and development theories, techniques and practices.
- You have knowledge of fiscal and financial planning, strategic investment planning and related policy issues.
- You have knowledge of performance management approaches to provide leadership and expertise in the development, evaluation and communication of strategic policies, programs, regulations and/or legislation.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- You can assess the impacts of change to the health system and fiscal plans, and make sound recommendations.
- You have the ability to gain knowledge of government directions, priorities and legislative process to ensure policies are developed within the context of the government's health care agenda.
Project Management:
- You have project experience to lead, plan and conduct research, analysis and evaluation projects and balance competing priorities to ensure deliverables are met within set timelines.
- You can provide leadership and guidance to project teams.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
- You can prepare and develop reports and recommendations, briefing and issues management material, reports, plans and correspondence.
- You can build and foster productive cross-sector relationships with senior management, stakeholders and clients.
- You can develop and present education and learning materials to support effective implementation, use and maintenance of standards.
