About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Short-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Organized. Team player. Hardworking. Patience. Employment terms options: Evening. Morning. Night. Experience: Will train.
