The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and optimizing manufacturing processes to reduce costs, enhance sustainability, and establish best practices. Key responsibilities include maintaining reliable and safe production systems utilizing both internal and external resources. This role leads technical initiatives aimed at improving processes, product quality, and implementing technological advancements. It also involves troubleshooting production, quality, and environmental issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

Key Responsibilites

  • Provide technical oversight to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality
  • Deliver technical training to the workforce on process improvements and changes
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead process optimization initiatives
  • Support CAPEX projects, including equipment upgrades and the implementation of new technologies
  • Gather and analyze data to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to achieve results
  • Develop and conduct trials as needed
  • Participate in shutdown planning and execution, as required
  • Interpret technical manuals and drawings, and effectively communicate relevant information to operations
  • Develop techniques and processes aimed at improving quality

Qualifications

  • B Eng or BA Sc. In Chemical Engineering
  • Strong background PLC controls, working knowledge on electrical schematics and automation design.
  • Experience in equipment troubleshooting, process optimization and production controls such as SPC and DCS.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, that would include some combination of strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach, teach, and manage people.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and works to specific goals and objectives

Compensation & Benefits

$76,500 - $93,500 CAD per annum (Actual salary offer will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
