The Secretary I provides administrative support. The Secretary I performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education program in Business Administration, Medical Office Assistant, or equivalent. Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure, and demonstrated skills in setting priorities. Advanced knowledge and experience with computer technology and applications including but limited to: Connect Care, ESP, Word, Excel, email and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing electronic filing systems, shared drives, and records management. Attention to detail and ability to focus on repetitive computer work for an extended period. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Preference will be given to those with previous experience working as a medical office assistant/secretary.
