Job Description

Texada is seeking our next Contract Administrator. In this part-time role (10 to 20 hours a week), you will help accelerate deals, safeguard Texada’s interests, and enable partner success by reviewing, negotiating, and administering commercial agreements with customers, partners, and vendors. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security/IT, and Operations to ensure our contracts reflect Texada’s risk appetite while maintaining a partner-centric approach.

Strategic Value

  • Reduce contractual risk and cycle time by delivering clear, consistent legal reviews aligned to Texada’s risk tolerance.
  • Enable revenue and partnership growth by providing pragmatic, business-minded guidance on terms and redlines.
  • Improve operational efficiency through templates, clause libraries, and lightweight processes that scale.
  • Protect Texada’s brand and customer trust by supporting privacy, security, and compliance requirements.

Work location and travel

  • Remote/Hybrid work environment (primarily remote work with occasional travel to Mississauga office).
  • Candidates should be authorized to work in Canada without restriction or sponsorship.

How you will be contributing

  • Review Customer, Partner, and Vendor contracts (MSAs, Order Forms, DPAs, SOWs, NDAs, Reseller/Referral/Marketplace agreements, Procurement terms).
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and vendors on redlines; draft, revise, and negotiate contract language to closure.
  • Strike a strong risk/reward balance that reflects the organization’s risk appetite in legal reviews, escalating thoughtfully when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal constituents (Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security/IT, Product, Operations) with a partner-centric mindset to unblock deals.
  • Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and a clause library to drive consistency and speed.
  • Track status, approvals, and renewals; ensure executed documents are stored, searchable, and auditable.
  • Support privacy, data protection, and security requirements (e.g., DPAs, SCCs, InfoSec questionnaires) in collaboration with Security/IT.
  • Identify recurring negotiation themes and recommend policy or template updates to prevent future friction.

What we are hoping to find in your background

  • 5+ years of experience in contract administration, paralegal, legal operations, or commercial negotiations (SaaS or technology strongly preferred) in the US and Canada.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to engage counterparties on redlines and drive to win-win outcomes.
  • Solid grasp of common commercial terms (indemnity, limitation of liability, SLAs, data security, IP, termination, payment terms).
  • Strong business judgment and a pragmatic, risk-balanced approach aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Familiarity with privacy and data protection principles (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA) is an asset.
  • Experience with CLM or document management tools is a plus; advanced Google Workspace/Docs skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Clear understanding of and experience with common AI tools and their impact on contract reviews, redlining, and contract administration.

How to grab our attention

  • Examples of complex negotiations you led to closure (before/after redlines or a short negotiation summary).
  • A brief writing sample demonstrating clear, concise contract language or guidance you’ve authored.
  • Metrics that show impact (e.g., reduced cycle time, improved renewal rates, fewer escalations, template adoption).
  • Demonstrated examples of where your use of AI has been a game changer for you in contract evaluations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., WorldCC/IACCM) or formal legal training.

Competencies for Success

  • Sound judgment and high ownership; able to prioritize and execute in a fast-moving environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, partner-centric approach; builds trust across internal teams and with external parties.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; clear, concise, and persuasive.
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
