Position Title: Personal Trainer/Member Experience Representative

Location: Bob Chan-Kent Family YMCA (45844 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack)

Term: Part-Time Permanent

Hours: 4-24 hours per week

Shift: Shifts vary but will include weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Personal Training: $30.54 per hour

Member Experience Representative:

0-500 hours $18.39 per hour

501-1000 hours $18.94 per hour

1001 – 1500 hours $19.51 per hour

1500 + hours $20.10 per hour

Reports To: Supervisor, Fitness

Nature & Scope

Reporting to the Fitness Supervisor, the Personal Trainer/Member Experience Representative will work collaboratively with all YMCA staff and volunteers to provide exceptional service to members and guests of the YMCA. They will provide members with a comfortable and productive fitness environment through quality customer service and personal training and help the fitness department meet personal training targets.

Major Responsibilities**-in this position, you will:**

  • Assist individual members with their fitness programs, in a positive and professional manner
  • Build meaningful relationships through daily interaction with YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues
  • Cultivating personal training relationships by presenting the value of personal training to new and existing members.
  • Perform member orientations to the fitness facility
  • Perform all mandatory administration duties and records
  • Clean all prescribed areas based on infection prevention protocols including fitness and high touch areas
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all members and staff – this includes the free weight, stretching, circuit and cardio areas

Qualifications**-you bring:**

  • Must be at least 19 years of age

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate

  • BCRPA Personal Training Certification or equivalent

  • Group fitness certificate is an asset

  • Older adult certifications are an asset

  • Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset

  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date

  • 3 professional references
