Summary of responsibilities

The incumbent performs duties in the dish room, pot room and food production areas of the department according to specific job assignments, which may be interchangeable according to experience and knowledge.

Requirements of the job

  • Current Food Handler’s/Food Safety Certification Program
  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • Experience in hospital food service department or other food service operation
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong team orientation
  • Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
