Purpose We are currently recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer .  Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters.  This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. This new position has been created to fill the need for local I&C project leadership. The Senior Instrumentation Engineer will lead local I&C project teams on oil and gas engineering projects (EPS/EPC) to ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineering, and deliverables for client projects.
  • Leading I&C teams to complete deliverables within budget and on schedule.
  • Responsible for scope definitions, budgets, staffing plans, schedule updates and progress reporting.
  • Interfacing with vendors and other disciplines.
  • Reviewing and stamping Instrumentation & Controls drawings.
  • Ensuring all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Ensuring all design work is safe, carried out in a safe manner, and conforms to codes and standards used by the client.
  • Identifying issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions.
  • May be required to provide assistance during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

What You Will Bring Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Extensive Instrumentation & Control design and engineering experience.
  • Experience leading large I&C engineering projects for oil and gas or mining industry is required.
  • Ability to design and interpret Instrumentation & Controls designs/schematics.
  • Knowledge of and previous exposure to HAZOP/LOPA.
  • Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Control deliverables such as:
  • Control Systems and Panel Design
  • P&ID's
  • Loop, Wiring & Instrument Location Drawings
  • Motor Control Schematics
  • Control System architecture and Cause and Effect Diagrams
  • Instrument Installation Details
  • Instrument Specifications
  • I/O Lists
  • Bill of Materials
  • Conduit/Tray/Cable Schedules
  • Control Narratives
  • Material Requisitions
  • Construction or Engineering Work Packages
  • Working knowledge of Instrumentation Calculation/Selection, such as flow, level measurement, temperature, and pressure.
  • SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software training is an asset.

Required Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Engineering Degree (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical preferred)
  • P.Eng registered with APEGBC

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $120,000 to $180,000
