Job Description:
The Hudson Regional Cancer Program (HRCP) is one of fourteen in the province of Ontario. The Quality Lead role works as a key member of the HRCP team to lead quality initiatives and projects to achieve Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) deliverables and to support the provision of effective cancer care programming based on best evidence. The role also supports regional cancer screening operations for the breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer programs and cancer prevention initiatives with the goal of increasing cancer screening rates in the North Simcoe Muskoka Region. This rewarding position requires an individual who is self-directed, analytical, and organized.
The Quality Lead team works collaboratively to:
- Support the strategic and operational functions of the HRCP
- Develop, implement and evaluate Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario), HRCP and hospital initiatives
- Provide leadership in the context of quality improvement
- Support regional engagement activities at the community and provider level
- Actively participate on Ontario Health, HRCP, Hospital, and regional committees
- Support the HRCP Leadership Team and HRCP Regional Leads
- Design and delivery various media and communication tools
- Support the provision of knowledge transfer to internal and external partners
- Proactively identify and support initiatives to reduce barriers to equitable access to care for underserved, vulnerable populations
Education:
- Four year Undergraduate degree in Applied Health Sciences, Community Health, Education or Business, required
- Certification in Project Management and Quality Improvement an asset
- Master's degree an asset
Experience:
- Five years’ experience in a professional, quality improvement, or leadership role in a healthcare setting
- One year experience in the cancer care system with an in-depth understanding of complexities of the Ontario Cancer System, and the Ontario Cancer Plan 6 2024-2028
- Working knowledge of North Simcoe Muskoka regional healthcare system and relevant partners involved in cancer care and disease prevention
- Previous experience in adult education principles and delivery
- Knowledge and expertise in program and project development and evaluation
- Experience with project management and budget planning
- Experience implementing changes in process and practice in health related systems
Competencies:
- Computer skills - proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments
- Excellent time management, organization and computer literacy skills
- Ability to work with and motivate multiple groups and partners at all levels of healthcare administration
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and consultative
- Superior presentation and facilitation skills
About Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre
Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, located in Barrie, Ontario, provides safe, high-quality care for residents across a large geographical region including Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka. The area is home to more than 450,000 residents, with half of RVH’s patients living outside the City of Barrie.
As the largest health centre in North Simcoe Muskoka, RVH provides highly specialized services, and technology not found anywhere else in the region. This includes the only interventional radiology suites for minimally invasive surgeries, vascular services, advanced stroke care, as well as dedicated trauma rooms in its large Emergency department. RVH is also home to the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre, Simcoe Muskoka Regional Heart Program, Simcoe Muskoka Regional Child and Youth Program and the RVH Regional Renal Program meaning distance is no longer a factor for residents receiving lifesaving treatment.
