In doing so, we’ve also enabled new user experiences and features across all of Lyft’s products, including rideshare industry leading firsts like CarPlay, Android Auto, and real-time driver feedback!
A Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) will be the driving force behind a comprehensive test strategy to complement our test automation. This is a hands-on position. You will schedule and participate in internal testing events, collaborate closely with product feature teams as they develop new features, and ensure every release happens on time without regression.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, create, and execute tests for validating Lyft's mobile apps
- Perform exploratory testing and assist in the identification and design of test automation
- Develop test plan by collaborating with the cross-functional team and identify tests for automation or automate them
- Maintain existing UI tests, monitor failures and report bugs
- Design and implement test strategy to improve efficiency in manual testing
- Build and maintain systems to monitor test stability and report stability issues back to engineers
Experience:
- 1+ years of experience as Quality Assurance Engineer
- Strong experience in developing and documenting test plan, test cases and reporting bugs for complex features
- Solid experience in building automation frameworks and writing reliable and maintainable automated tests
- Have worked on mobile platform and have a very good understanding of and ability to troubleshoot the testing ecosystem
- Familiarity with Espresso/XCUITest is strongly desired
- Track record of improving efficiency, especially through automation, balancing short-term and long-term priorities
- Have significant experience and willingness to collaborate closely with other teams and cross functional partners
- Are constantly thinking ahead, and building for future changes in an ever-changing mobile ecosystem
- Shows a passion for learning, especially through looking at new processes and tools that have significant impact on engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and advanced proficiency in English
- Experience of prioritizing and coordinating work across numerous product teams is a plus

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $79,600 - cad $99,500. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
