The Opportunity This position works out of our Mississauga office for the Abbott Core Lab Division. At Abbott – Core Lab, we’re empowering smarter diagnostic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. As a Marketing Manager you will develop and execute on the marketing plan for the Core Lab products in Canada. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementation of tactical sales strategies and sales support which includes creating, supporting, and executing strategic plans as well as follow up tactics, supporting products, launch plans / execution of new products and programs development to accelerate profitable product sales growth. The focus is to achieve market share optimization at a profitable growth. You will work to ensure programs are aligned with key company strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all marketing activities associated with Core Lab product lines or businesses.
  • Obtain and analyze market segmentation data – develop and execute strategies and programs based on market segmentation for the Core Lab products.
  • Strategic planning and tactical execution of product specific strategy, new product launches and marketing/sales plans to achieve sales growth and margin objectives.
  • Collaborate and support Core Lab commercial teams to grow sales of all Core Lab products in targeted industry segment(s) or for specific assigned product (s) segments nationwide. Tasks can include creating/executing tactical initiatives, field travel, Trade show and conference management, tender responses and support field sales and implementation activities.
  • Assist field visits to determine customer dynamics, drivers, current and future customer needs, opportunities, and to recognize specific geographical considerations for both products and programs. KOL engagement planning and execution to develop KOL’s to support Canadian market segment businesses.
  • Development and execution of tactical lead generation programs and promotions in Canada, including of strategic promotional activities, in order to build opportunity pipeline.
  • Develop presentations and marketing assets that are OEC compliant – manage appropriate process for marketing approvals; assets should be bilingual in French and English.
  • Drive competitor, product and market-specific Canadian competitive intelligence gathering and evaluation activity. Develop presentations for executives to demonstrate Canadian market segmentation for Core Lab and supportive modelling to track progress through KPI’s.
  • Support future product and program development activities by evaluating customer needs and assembling business plans.
  • Execute marketing initiatives in conjunction with sales teams.
  • Assist with the delivering training programs for assigned product line.
  • Deliver online, web casts, e-newsletters, web conferencing training in collaboration with marketing department.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives, including but not limited to field sales force, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs, logistics, public affairs, marketing team, executive management, creative and media agencies, vendors, retail buyers, and health care professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Eight years of working experience.
  • Five years working in Commercial roles such as: Marketing or Sales or Commercial Supporting functions. Experience within Diagnostic Market is desirable.
  • Knowledge of multiple diagnostic multiple revenue streams such as: Capital, Consumables and Digital Health is expected.
  • Strong presentation & communication skills, strategic planning, critical thinking, market analytics capabilities.
  • Execution-oriented with a proved record of commercial results.
  • Self-starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of self-confidence and intellectual curiosity, and demonstrates good executive presence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working across functional areas (ex. R&D, Regulatory, Operations, etc.) and at varying levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and quick recall.
  • Innovative and creative—demonstrated ability to leverage insights to identify and evaluate creative ideas, focusing on those that will create sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
