HEALTH AND SAFETY COORDINATOR
MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of workplace health, safety, and wellness programs. Acting as a key resource for managers, employees, and external partners, this role ensures a safe and compliant work environment aligned with legal requirements and industry best practices. The coordinator also plays a transformational role in fostering an effective and sustainable health and safety culture across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses; analyze root causes and establish corrective and preventive action priorities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CNESST, WHMIS, etc.).
- Coordinate and actively participate in health and safety committee activities and internal/external audits.
- Organize and deliver training sessions for managers and employees (e.g., WHMIS, respiratory protection programs, etc.).
- Maintain up-to-date records, reports, and statistics related to health and safety.
- Participate in annual audits with the prevention mutual and ensure follow-up on the action plan throughout the year.
- Act as a change agent to promote a proactive culture of prevention and workplace well-being.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g., HR, WHS management, ergonomics, or related disciplines)
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role
An asset
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
PERSONAL ABILITIES
Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French
- Promotes a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect
- Good priority management skills
GENERAL CRITERIA
Required
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel to our LGM terminal 20% of the time (located 2 km from our plant)
