Finance and Operations Coordinator

Since the 70's, ESG has provided safe, affordable, and dignified housing for Calgary’s seniors. We
manage two independent-living apartment communities and work every day to promote
independence, quality of life, and the right of choice for our residents.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time, salaried position ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, service-
oriented, and task-focused. The Finance and Operations Coordinator will thrive in a dynamic
setting where interruptions are common, priorities shift, and interpersonal interactions are
central to daily operations. If you enjoy balancing structure with flexibility and take pride in
supporting vulnerable populations, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Financial Coordination
Manage accounts payable and receivable with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism
Maintain tenant and vendor financial records with a high degree of organization and
confidentiality
Reconcile monthly bank statements and prepare deposits with strong attention to detail
Process employee expenses and mileage claims accurately and efficiently
Provide friendly and clear communication around financial matters to internal and external
stakeholders
Operations and Administrative Support
Assist in the implementation and ongoing use of Yardi Breeze Premier
Schedule vendors and contractors with patience and persistence—often coordinating with
multiple parties and timelines
Draft tenant notices and create monthly newsletters with clarity and compassion
Handle walk-in and phone inquiries from seniors and their families with empathy,
professionalism, and warmth—even when conversations are challenging
Maintain the tenant handbook and keep administrative processes up to date, even while
managing interruptions
Support the team with new initiatives and adapt to evolving processes with a solution-
oriented mindset
Reporting and Compliance
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal review
Support the annual audit process with complete and accurate documentation
Ensure timely reporting on all government funding programs, including the Rent Assistance
Benefit and tenant group insurance
Uphold internal controls and financial compliance through conscientious and consistent
practices

Technical Requirements
Proficient in Yardi Breeze Premier, QuickBooks Online, MS Office, Plooto, and CAFT
Experience in finance, operations, or administration in a housing or non-profit environment
is an asset
Familiarity with the seniors’ housing sector or working with vulnerable populations is a
strong plus
Additional Requirements
Calgary Police Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months of hire; employee-paid)
Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) course—company-paid and completed at earliest
