Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary Under the supervision of the PI as well as following established governmental guidelines and regulations, the incumbent is responsible for the establishment of the ALS and neuromuscular research program at the Centre for Innovative Medicine and coordinator of trials in that program.
General Duties
- Mentor a team of clinical research coordinators engaged in ALS/NM clinical trials.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple concurrent ALS/NM clinical trials from initiation through close-out.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of trial-specific procedures to ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and institutional guidelines.
- Serve as the primary liaison between investigators, sponsors, monitors, regulatory bodies, and hospital departments.
- Participate in training of new research staff.
- Facilitate team meetings and the resolution of operational or protocol-related issues.
- Monitor recruitment, data integrity, adverse event reporting, and overall study progress to ensure targets and timelines are met.
- Contribute to budget planning, resource allocation, and strategic process improvements.
- Coordinate with investigators, sponsors, and institutional stakeholders to facilitate study start-up, conduct, and close-out.
- Manages site feasibility questionnaire and qualification visits,
- Ensures start-up activities, including site initiation,
- Customizes study material for the RI MUHC,
- Oversees project timelines and patient accrual,
- Follows-up on recruitment activities according to study timelines,
- Manages other study activities such as monitoring visits, data management and statistics deliverables,
- Conducts and coordinates the meeting with sponsor and other stakeholders,
- Other duties as assigned by the PI

Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or a related field,
- A minimum of 2 years in multicenter clinical trial management or national registries for clinical research,
- Bilingual (Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English),
- Working knowledge of ALS clinical trials,
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry combined with hospital environment is preferred,
- Clinical research accreditation is preferred,
- Excellent organizational skills,
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, and prioritizing for time-sensitive issues,
- Excellent knowledge of international, federal and provincial laws and regulations governing clinical research (ICH-GCP),
- Self-directed and organized. Able to work both independently and as part of a team,
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Proficient with technology systems (EDC, MS Excel, Power Point, etc.).
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $55,692.00 - $103,412.40.
Work Shift: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Site: Glen Site (1001, boul Décarie)
