Responsibilities
The Operations Manager role is a hands-on position that requires a thorough knowledge of Terrace and the Pacific Northwest. Principal duties and responsibilities include:
- All aspects of managing staff including the internal and external postings, recruitment, and hiring of staff as well as leading the discipline process when required
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities of personnel, ensuring all routes are covered in the most equitable and efficient manner
- Set-up and input data for driver payroll; check and extend time cards for correct information
- Assist with driver performance issues by supervising and supporting the Training Officer
- Host monthly safety meetings
- Represent all personnel by participating in Driver's Committee meetings
- Handle public and driver inquiries, hostile or complimentary, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
- Coordinate with Charter customers by providing quotes, inputting data, and confirm/assign drivers
- Work closely with the Transportation Supervisor in setting up routes
- Prepare monthly billing
- Work closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure adequate numbers and sizes of units are available to cover all routes
- Maintain liaison with regulatory bodies, in particular CVSE
- Budget compliance
- Review and revise job descriptions as required

Requirements
- Transportation industry experience is considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience (management experience preferred)
- Exceptional organizational, analytic problem solving, and diplomacy skills
- Ability to communicate well with staff and external organizations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Class 2 driver's license considered an asset
