About the role

Your Opportunity:

The South Health Campus provides service to the Calgary Zone in high-need areas, including Women’s Health, NICU, Emergency, Surgery and Mental Health. It serves inpatients and outpatients, providing wellness services, illness prevention, and public health learning opportunities for the community in conjunction with a YMCA on-site. The South Health Campus has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars guide the development and delivery of service to all patients and families at SHC. This position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible in the modality of Computed Tomography to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services. This provision of imaging is made in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Member in good standing and current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) Venipuncture certification. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

CT experience. Full CTIC Certificate with completed practicum ACMDTT Enhanced Practice Authorization in Medication Administration. Experience with Epic/Connect Care.
