Whether you're in your first or second year of a chemistry-related program, this is your opportunity to work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment where your curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail will be valued and developed.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct routine lab analysis on petroleum products.
  • Collect samples from across the terminal using a company vehicle.
  • Support research and development (R&D) activities as directed by the lab team lead.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on lab equipment and help keep the lab organized and well-stocked.
  • Enter and review data with accuracy and attention to trends.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and contribute to a safe, collaborative work environment.
  • Follow all Gibson Energy safety and environmental policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a chemistry-related post-secondary or technical program.
  • First-year students welcome; second-year students preferred.
  • Experience in any lab setting (school, co-op, or professional) is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and knows when to ask for help.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and lab instrumentation (e.g., Gas Chromatography).
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to identify trends in data and maintain accurate records.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License (GDL acceptable).
  • Available for a 12–16 month term starting September 2025.

Schedule & Support

  • 8-hour shifts on a rotating schedule: 7 days on, 3 days off, 5 days on.
  • May include day or night shifts depending on coverage needs.
  • A housing allowance may be available for the right candidate.
