About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Paint / Prep Technician to prepare and finish metal and material parts for assembly and shipping. This role involves applying protective/finished coatings, surface preparation, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finish metal parts (hanging, masking, grinding, buffing, sanding, coating).
  • Mix and apply paint/coatings to specifications, including mil-spec finishes.
  • Inspect parts for proper finish, thickness, and gloss; complete touch-ups as needed.
  • Operate tools and equipment including spray guns, gauges, meters, ovens, and overhead cranes.
  • Maintain accurate records for traceability, process data, and quality checks.
  • Follow schedules to ensure parts are processed on time.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.

Skills and qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or related painting experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
  • Comfortable working with painting/prep tools and equipment.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and meeting production deadlines.
