Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Athletics and Campus Recreation, the Athletics and Recreation Videographer is responsible for creating high-quality visual content that promotes and celebrates Loyalist College’s Athletics and Recreation programs. This role plays a critical part in supporting recruitment, engagement, and program growth through compelling digital storytelling.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality video content at varsity home games, competitions, and special events
- Capture high-quality video and photography content for Athletics & Recreation programming, including campus events, training sessions, and recreational activities
- Edit and produce engaging highlight reels and recap videos, primarily for social media platforms
- Create promotional and recruitment-focused video content to support athlete and student recruitment
- Collaborate with the Athletics & Recreation team to plan and create content that highlights all aspects of the department
- Capture and promote both competitive results and the culture, identity, and community of Loyalist Athletics & Recreation
- Edit and publish content with very quick turnaround times, including same-day or next-day recap posts
- Stay current with social media trends to ensure content remains relevant and engaging
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Completion of a two-year diploma in Media, Digital Media, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in sport and recreation content creation
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of a variety of sports, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, rugby, golf, and cross country
- Proven experience capturing content across multiple mediums, including video and photography
- Strong understanding of social media content creation, including:
- Instagram content
- Short-form video and reels
- Highlight and recap videos
- Proficiency in video editing with the ability to produce engaging, attention-grabbing content
- Strong awareness of current social media and digital media trends
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage quick turnaround times, particularly following games and events
