Job Brief
We are looking for a thorough Line Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition of our production machines. The job holder will be required to perform a variety of tasks including machine maintenance, repairs, inspections etc.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance for designated area (Depending on specific qualifications — responsibilities will change accordingly).
- Regular check & inspection on food processing equipment in accordance with Health & Safety Procedures.
- Develop new SOPs and Preventative Maintenance Schedule for new equipment and modify existing ones as needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a regular basis; inspect belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filter etc.
- Work with different manufactures and procuring proper parts as instructed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Maintain and replenish inventory as per the spare parts program.
- Responsible for installing, dismantling, repairing, reassembling, and moving machinery in our food processing line.
- Work on CMMS and on equipment maintenance as required. This is a dual role where planners can only succeed in planning if they know how to perform those tasks.
- Ability to work with multiple different vendors for parts orders and be able to manage different projects or equipment downtime properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Always keep work area clean and tidy.
- Always wear proper PPE, as required.
- Always work safety to Occupational Health & Safety Act Standards.
- Always work in compliance to GMP rules.
Job Terms
- Job Type: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week, adjustment pending on business need
- Probationary Period: 3 months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: 2501-A Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON, L4Y 1R6
- Shift Requirement: Must be flexible 7 days a week depending on operation needs, Saturday shift required
- Compensation: Starting rate as $20-$22 per hour
- Benefits: Group Benefits entitlement upon completion of probation time
Qualifications
- Previous trade or related experience
- Mechanical or Electrical Diploma and or equivalent degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology
- Experience with CMMS and or relevant ticketing tools
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge in the food service industry, preferably the produce sector
