TSR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Python Engineer for an opportunity in Mississauga, ON Position Title: Senior Python Engineer Location: Mississauga, ON Job Type: Hybrid – 3 days to office & 2 days remote Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. TSR will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Right to Hire) Pay Range: Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). We are seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD on Linux and a proven ability to design, build, and support scalable, secure services and integrations. Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and support Python-based applications and services. Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations. Contribute to development of Agentic AI workflows and MCP-enabled components. Implement integrations between AI models, enterprise systems, and business applications. Develop reusable services and components following enterprise engineering standards. Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through support. Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls to ensure reliability. Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks. Work with messaging and event-streaming technologies for asynchronous processing. Collaborate with business and technology teams to analyze requirements and deliver solutions. Support issue resolution, performance tuning, and application enhancements. Document designs, implementation details, and operational procedures. Follow established security, governance, and risk management standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of hands-on development with Python. Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices. Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms. Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks. Knowledge of SQL and database technologies. Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Experience working in Linux environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective collaboration. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills: Exposure to Agentic AI frameworks, MCP, LLMs, and GenAI solutions. Familiarity with Kafka, MQ, or other event-streaming platforms. Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies. Background in banking, risk management, or financial services. Understanding of distributed systems, observability, and platform monitoring. What you’ll do

Design, develop, and support Python-based applications, REST APIs, and microservices within an event-driven architecture. Implement Agentic AI workflows and integrate AI models with enterprise systems while ensuring operational reliability through monitoring and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

Requires over 8 years of hands-on Python development experience and proficiency in building RESTful APIs and microservices in Linux environments. A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience is required.
