Title: Post-doctoral fellow in rheumatoid arthritis prevention

Responsibilities:

• Prepare cryopreserved peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from an interventional clinical trial for flow cytometry experiments.
• Perform multi-colour flow cytometry, including cell staining and data acquisition (Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX).
• Stimulate PBMCs from the clinical trial to assess cytokine production using intracellular flow cytometry.
• Analyze data from flow cytometry experiments in conjunction with Immunology Core staff using FlowJo and other analytical pipelines.
• Perform experiments on serum/plasma obtained from clinical trials using (but not restricted to): ELISA, RNA-seq, real-time PCR, metabolomics.
• Prepare the analyzed data into tables and figures suitable for publication.
• Author the initial draft of manuscripts based on the acquired data.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

• PhD in Immunology or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

• Experiments involving immune cells, particularly T and B lymphocytes (including experience with FlowJo for data analysis)

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• As above, training to run samples on the CytoFLEX can be provided if the applicant is not familiar with its use
