What your day will look like as an Aircraft Groomer – Lead Hand:

The lead hand will be responsible for undertaking grooming duties in addition to overseeing and controlling the evening grooming activities of all aircrafts and leading a team of groomers.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Respect grooming contracts specific to each client’s needs;
  • Communicate with production manager upon arrival of aircraft, review aircraft status and advise management of any potential downtime that impacts schedule;
  • Review work order activities and advise Maintenance Manager;
  • Review status of interior/exterior cosmetic maintenance items and establish plan for approval by Assigned AME or Maintenance Manager;
  • Assign/perform daily grooming inspection for pre-flight and post flight activities;
  • Communicate daily plan to groomers (work to be carried out);
  • Clean exterior and interior of aircraft upon arrival in timely order;
  • Conduct deep clean carpets when required;
  • Conduct bright work when required;
  • Conduct aircraft deicing when required
  • Operate scissor lift (only upon completion of appropriate training);
  • Identify/Order cleaning products required to complete grooming activities and maintain company equipment;
  • Participate with scheduling of heavy maintenance grooming activities (paint polishing, bright work, carpet cleaning, etc.) and coordinate with production manager;
  • Review and monitor grooming checklist and groomers’ performance (assess quality, timeliness) and feed back to Maintenance Manager;
  • Provide services for hangar moves and aircraft towing (as required & only upon completion of appropriate training);
  • Provide services for marshalling aircrafts in and out of the hangar (only upon completion of appropriate training);
  • Accomplish any other assigned duties.

What is expected from an Aircraft Groomer – Lead Hand at Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • High School Education completed or equivalence;
  • Experience of grooming in aviation industry;
  • Experience of leading a team;
  • Valid driver license Class 5 maintained throughout employment;
  • Must obtain Transport Canada Security clearance and requirements (MOT);
  • Must obtain & maintain your Airport Security Pass;
  • Must be prepared to obtain the Radio Operator Certificate;
  • Must have or be prepared to obtain DAR pass for driving on airport apron;
  • Be prepared and available to work irregular shifts;
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment;
  • Ability to work at heights;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
