In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our fight against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.

Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.

Positions are available across the province at sites and locations operated/funded by Manitoba health regions and service providers. Employees will be hired by Shared Health. Accepting a position with the COVID-19 Casual Pool will NOT impact your existing employment.

Position Overview

To reduce the spread of COVID-19 the Alternative Isolation Accommodation (AIA) program was established to develop safe options for those requiring a safe space to self-isolate. As a member of the AIA healthcare team the incumbent will conduct comprehensive assessment of clients who may have multiple medical challenges, provide clinical expertise and assistance to other members of the AIA team, and provide clinical and emotional support for COVID positive and contact cases of COVID 19.while in isolation. The incumbent will conduct client assessments, provide clinical guidance and direction to the rest of the team, and coordinate admissions and discharges.

Experience
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Regulated Health Care Professionals required. Those Health Care Professionals not currently regulated, including Paramedics, may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active Member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as applicable
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions and work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates strong assessment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skill, and interest in working with diverse people with a variety of backgrounds, lifestyles, abilities, health status, choices and other attributes, required.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Compliance with workplace safely, PPE policies and procedures required.
  • Ability to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated competency in working with community residents, community partners and agencies.

As a result of The Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act, the bargaining agent for this position may differ from the Union identified.
