Analyst/ Associate Corporate Banking

Purpose of the role

We are currently recruiting for an Analyst and an Associate position in our Corporate Banking Energy Group in Calgary. The individuals will work closely with the team managing client relationships across Canada. The Analyst/ Associate will be responsible for handling or providing assistance on, all credit-related activities including the completion of credit presentations, identifying lending and cross-sell opportunities, preparing client presentations and pitches, structuring loan transactions, negotiating documentation and monitoring compliance and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day account management support
  • Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity
  • Develop recommendations for the appropriate course of action
  • Expand industry and product knowledge
  • Analyze, process and execute credit requests
  • Research credit and bank product requirements of existing and prospective clients
  • Ensure credit files, agreements and security documents are complete and up to date
  • Monitor and follow for client compliance
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing pitches
  • Coordinate with various product groups within GBM
  • Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with other lenders, legal counsel, clients

  • Assist with client relationship management and contribute to cross-sell activities
  • Maintain a professional approach in all client interaction
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills with concise rationale supporting recommendations and actions
  • High attention to detail with a sense of urgency appropriate to the situation
  • Strong time management skills and driven to achieve timelines and goals

Qualifications and training:

  • BComm/MBA/CFA designation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial modelling skills and accounting knowledge
  • Strong computer skills including the use of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
