What we are looking for:

The Analyst, Consolidations will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidations and will assist in consolidating the financial statements, be performing month-end financial close processes and will contribute to the preparation of the consolidated financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

  • Execute the monthly financial close process in a complex multi-currency environment;
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of subsidiary reporting;
  • Prepare supporting schedules, analysis and disclosures to support management and statutory consolidated financial statements;
  • Correspond and coordinate with multiple divisional accounting teams and other corporate departments for the preparation of consolidation entries, , financial statements and analysis required for the MD&A;
  • Perform various account reconciliations, continuity schedules and other supporting schedules for management and the external auditors (i.e. intangibles (IAS 38), property, plant and equipement (IAS 16), leases (IFRS 16), financial instruments (IFRS 9), etc.);
  • Working with the finance team to identify and execute process improvement initiatives;
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from various stakeholders and special projects as needed.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Hold a university degree in Business or Accounting equivalent;
  • Hold a professional accounting designation (CPA);
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive work experience including financial reporting and consolidation process;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards including the application of analysis and accounting standards;
  • Experience with financial and consolidation systems (e.g. SAP 4 S/4Hana and Workiva considered an asset) and Microsoft Office, specifically Advanced Excel;
  • Excellent professional judgement, analytical capabilities and organizational skills;
  • Adaptive to change and able to work under strict time constraints in a complex and dynamic environment;
  • Ability to grasp new technology and tools;
  • Effective communication skills in both French and English a strong asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Public company experience is an asset;
