What we are looking for:

Under the supervision of the Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income Solutions, you will join a prominent multidisciplinary investment team and will add value for our institutional clients with your expertise in fixed income and liability-driven investment management. You will participate in the elaboration and implementation of customized and innovative investment solutions, will significantly contribute to the development of the team quantitative & technological architecture with your strong programming skills, will participate in our ambitious growth activities and will develop new ideas for our clients (mostly comprised of insurance companies, pension plans and foundations).

Your responsibilites:

As part of your duties, you will be assigned the following responsibilities:

  • Provide programming expertise in a practical asset/liability portfolio management context;
  • Create various mathematical models and simulation techniques used in forecasting and risk assessments;
  • Provide quantitative and actuarial support to our clients through dedicated & sophisticated servicing relationships;
  • Collaborate in the design, management and implementation of fixed income solutions with the team members;
  • Participate in the portfolio management activities and day-to-day risk management.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Master’s degree in actuarial mathematics, financial mathematics or related field;
  • Enrollment in or completion of FSA program, an asset;
  • Enrollment in or completion of CFA program, an asset;
  • Enrollment in or completion of CAIA program, an asset;
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the investment management, actuarial or insurance industries;
  • Previous experience and strong interest for computer programming in order to design, develop and use quantitative tools for asset-liability management;
  • Previous experience in financial engineering and structuring of investment management solutions for institutional investors;
  • Previous experience as an actuarial, investment and ALM analyst, an asset;
  • Strong applied actuarial and quantitative skills demonstrated both on paper and by past experience;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Python, VBA, Matlab, C++ or other programming languages;
  • Acute interest for financial risk management and financial markets within an institutional context;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills ideally both in French & English (verbal and written);
  • Strong interest in applied quantitative investment techniques towards achieving institutional investment objectives;
  • Exemplary service orientation;
  • Effective time management and organizational skills;
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
