What we are looking for:

The incumbent contributes to representation efforts aimed at partner institutions (clients) and will be called upon to perform macroeconomic analyses, write commentaries on the economy and the portfolios managed for clients, and prepare sales presentations to support partners. In addition, the incumbent will meet daily client information needs and perform investment portfolio management follow-ups with clients. The Analyst will also contribute to the investment market watch and will eventually be called upon to make live and video presentations. The position’s level of responsibility will evolve as the incumbent gains expertise.


Your responsibilities:

Within the framework of his or her duties, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  • Promptly meet client information needs regarding management of their portfolios. To accomplish this, the Analyst will become highly knowledgeable about portfolios under management, and maintain strong relationships with other portfolio management teams, the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, and all other in-house teams;
  • Perform macroeconomic analyses, write economic commentaries and prepare economic presentations;
  • Track portfolio performance, prepare summaries and submit recommendations to management as required;
  • Propose improvements to investment policies and perform analyses supporting the recommendations;
  • Perform market watch and track the competition’s product offerings;
  • Develop tools (dashboards);
  • Represent Fiera Capital during various events attended by the Firm’s clients;
  • Perform all other tasks given by management.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • University diploma in business administration or a related field (finance, accounting, economics, etc.);
  • Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or currently in the process of qualifying, an asset;
  • Master’s degree in finance or a related field, an asset.
  • 0-5 years of experience on a team of portfolio managers, financial advisors or investment consultants;
  • Ability to easily explain information in layman’s terms and speak and write effectively;
  • Strong interest for financial markets and portfolio management;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially with Excel (knowledge of VBA programming an asset);
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg;
  • Skilled in networking and development of business relationships;
  • Resourceful, self-sufficient, precise, detail-oriented and a team player;
  • Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
