To support the continued success of the company, Exchange Income Corporation is adding an Associate Manager to its Controls and Risk department in Winnipeg, MB.

Working on the Controls and Risk team means building strong relationships across EIC and its subsidiaries while executing on Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) requirements in accordance with COSO framework. Specific accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Cultivating strong relationships with subsidiaries’ executives and process owners to identify, update, develop and assess adequacy of key internal controls to support the annual and interim CEO/CFO (National Instrument 52-109) certifications.
  • Performing interviews with control and process owners to gain insight to be used in updating relevant descriptions and risk matrices
  • Selecting samples to document attributes of control performance during the defined period, as well as identifying weaknesses, gaps, or exceptions
  • Documenting testing results to support quarterly and annual design and operating assessments
  • Recommending practical strategies for remediation of identified weaknesses, risks or deficiencies
  • Preparing ICFR-related reports such as quarterly updates, concerns/deficiencies logs and testing documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal team member brings a naturally curious personality, coupled with a strong business acumen. Specific qualifications for success in this role include:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in process documentation, risk assessment and auditing methodologies in a private or publicly traded organization
  • A natural relationship builder, able to build strong rapport and trust with his/her colleagues, engaging in inquisitive conversation around business processes.
  • A very strong attention to detail coupled with superior writing skills – for this team member, it is easy to take detailed data and turn it into reports and presentations for a broader audience.
  • A natural curiosity – akin to an interviewer, someone who is able to ask the right questions, and probe a conversation to gain additional insight.
  • Knowledge of and experience working to fulfill COSO and National Instrument 52-109, CEO/CFO certification requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organization and manage time to meet demanding and changing project deadlines
  • Completion of an applicable professional designation (i.e., CA, CPA, CIA)
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Aviation, Manufacturing, Aerospace and/or IT control experience is considered an asset
