About the Position:

The Bilingual Business Development Manager role is based in Toronto and will work with the VP, Retail Sales in Quebec to increase market share of Timbercreek with existing clients while incrementally developing new business relationships by prospecting. The primary sales activity for the Bilingual Business Development Manager will be over the telephone and, when required, meet the client face to face as determined by events and activities within the regions. The ideal candidate is a great team player, passionate about the industry, energetic and motivated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the VP to increase sales and market share by conducting proactive sales calls with new and existing client.
  • Provide information and advice to prospects and clients about Timbercreek’s products and services.
  • Ensure full knowledge of most current product and market trends including product/portfolio features, benefits, and investment strategies.
  • Provide support to dealers and brokers on the market and fund performance, as well as portfolio profiles, value added programs, products and corporate updates.
  • Periodically deliver product information and business development tools with VP Sales at client meetings.
  • Monitor sales activity within the territories to identify trends and provide suggestions to clients in order to retain assets.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records in our systems.
  • Assist VP in the preparation of client meetings, roadshows, events and presentations.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • 2 years of sales experience within the mutual fund/wealth management industry
  • Knowledgeable of current trends in the broker/dealer industry, bond and capital markets
  • An undergraduate degree is required, and an MBA or CFA designation is an asset
  • Experience with Salesforce is an asset
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the IFC preferred
  • Bilingual in French and English

Qualifications:

  • High energy self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude, entrepreneurial and proactive
  • Strong communication (verbal/written), interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Well-developed presentation and telephone skills
  • Ability to create and maintain client relationships
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, driven work environment
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a close team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Superior attention to detail, organizational skills and a curious mind
