Key Responsibilities


As the Business Development Manager, you will play a fundamental role in achieving the company’s ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.


  • Source new sales opportunities and generate revenue through inbound lead follow-up and outbound contacts with existing clients, distributors, rep firms, cold calls and emails
  • Own the Salesforce pipeline (initiation, building rapport, quotations, follow up, creative follow through and closing)
  • Accomplish sales team goals by managing end to end ownership for sales requests
  • Develop accounts by understanding customer needs and technical requirements, checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information, trends and identifying sales opportunities
  • Qualify and develop leads from marketing campaigns and collaborate with marketing to develop lead generation plans
  • Stay up to date with new products/services and pricing
  • Manage and correspond with customers and representatives regarding inquiries, status of orders, tracking, delays, etc.
  • Track and manage distributors inventory, pricing in QuickBooks, distribution agreements, and purchase orders
  • Report to the COO and supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Other business development and sales duties as required.

What you need to be successful in this role


  • Engineering, Business or Science Degree or relevant College Diploma
  • Intellectual curiosity around electrical energy and technology
  • A minimum of 3-5 years B2B sales experience
  • Experience in a technical industry such as manufacturing and engineering
  • Salesforce expertise (or Equivalent CRM)
  • Proven sales experience and track record of achieving sales growth
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the tenacity to resolve issues
  • Strong work ethic and a “hands-on” approach-must be willing to “roll up your sleeves”
  • Motivation and drive to achieve excellence in every area
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, negotiating, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take the initiative, assume responsibility and exercise independent judgement.
  • Innate curiosity and ability to learn.
