ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Central Product Management Expert is a customer facing role where the individual will act as a bridge between SAP’s development organization and our customers. The individual will gain market & customer insights, in order to build products that customers need and love. The position is focused on understanding customer pain points and objectives across all areas of our Customer Experience solutions, using this information to influence key product roadmaps, with the end goal of driving positive business outcomes (for our customers and for SAP).

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

  • Understand and follow latest technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP that go beyond a single product.
  • Balance best of breed with best of suite with best tech; ensure that our customers benefit from useful features, that works together, and will also support their future growth
  • Responsible for the success, quality, cost and delivery of a product (or products) throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with and influence experts across the organization to focus on central topics, following the logic that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
  • Regularly update multiple product backlogs to reflect customer and user needs by incorporating feedback from customers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Help customers and internal stakeholders (e.g. the scrum team) to understand the backlog, telling a holistic Customer Experience story that is not disjointed or conflicting.
  • Ensure product scope is delivered by testing, demonstrating, and by validating with customers.

EXPERIENCE:
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about customer experience, and who are eager to be part of a team that breaks down silos and builds great products.

  • 5+ years experience in software Product Management
  • Independent yet collaborative
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Knowledge of Customer Experience business processes in commerce, marketing, sales and/or service from any vendor
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
  • Experience (or interest) in agile methods such as Scrum/XP
