The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
The CNC Machinist responsible for producing large, high quality landing gear components with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency and with great attention paid to health and safety standards.
Requires the ability to Rotate between 3 shifts.
• Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool offsets; M.D.I.
• Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
• Calculating Work Offsets/Indicating
• Understanding programmed tool path
• Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. 'Free State' condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
• Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments; spring pass; test cut bore
• Ability to read, understand G and M codes
• Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
• Preventive maintenance
• 5-S Activities
• Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
• Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
• Other duties as assigned
• Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
• Minimum 5 years CNC machining experience, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Ability to help produce large, high quality parts in a safe, productive and efficient manner.
• Ability to take direction from and interact with co-workers in a productive and positive manner.
• Minimum Gr. 12 education required.
• The ability to wear the required PPE.
• Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR/CGRP directives.
