We are seeking a Commercial Insurance Sales and Service Advisor II to join our team.

The Commercial Insurance Sales & Service Advisor II is responsible for managing a renewal portfolio at a midmarket level. The Mid market risks are more complex requiring a thorough understanding of commercial products and thorough underwriting review. This role will work in partnership with the commercial sales roles by providing support through the renewal process. The Commercial Insurance Sales & Service Advisor II will act as liaison between the Senior Commercial Insurance Advisor and Insurers, keeping them well-informed of any changes affecting insurance coverage’s and providing oversight and guidance as required including requesting and processing endorsements and cancellations in EPIC and with insurance carrier(s).

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day:

  • Renewals: Monitors monthly renewal lists of assigned accounts to ensure member contact, discussions of renewal options, identification of required changes, renewal terms negotiations with underwriters and presenting of terms to sales team is completed.
  • Member Contact & Sales: Contacts policy holders regarding renewals; conducts client interviews to understand current needs, concerns and coverage requirements; seeks opportunities to cross sell insurance products and/or referrals to other lines of business; advises insurer of any changes required for the renewal policy term; makes appropriate notes in the broker management system; defers for follow up to the appropriate area; and reviews policy with member and obtains signature.
  • Member Service: Provides seamless customer service to clients, as required; responds to inquiries from both internal and external customers related to commercial insurance products and provides seamless customer service to clients, as required; issues all endorsements and cancellation requests; initiates and sets up claims in EPIC, reports claim to carrier and provides ongoing support to clients throughout the claims process. This would be part of centralized claims, I would change to say – Liaise with centralized claims as required for follow up purposes.
  • Member Records: Processes commercial insurance policy coverage on the insurance systems, as required; manages member account throughout the year via the telephone or online; and endorses and cancels policies as required.
  • Risk Management: Escalation of any potential errors or omissions to Manager, Insurance Processing. Collects premiums at time of and ensures transactions and payments are posted and processed accurately and within the limits set out in the insurance policy.
  • Back up: Provides back up as required in absence of Senior Commercial Insurance Advisor.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • General Insurance Level two (CAIB two and three preferred)
  • five years personal and commercial insurance experience
  • Experience working with the Epic Broker System, or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications
  • Ability to input information quickly and accurately
  • Relationship building over the phone and by e-mail
  • Ability to review leases and business contracts in order to issue appropriate certificates of insurance
