Position Summary

The Digital Content Consultant is responsible for developing content for digital assets such as websites and applications. You are a member of the user experience team that works closely with the business, legal, underwriting, marketing teams to ensure that our content is accurate, on brand, and user friendly.

What you'll do in the role

  • Own and manage the content of one or more customer-facing internet sites to ensure it is current, complete and consistent with related content on other sites or other communication channels
  • Consult with business stakeholders and third party providers on digital and content strategy for new and existing websites, custom applications, and third party applications
  • Work closely with Product Owners, User Experience and Visual Designers, and marketing, sales and other business colleagues, to develop content requirements and ensure they are being met
  • Understand our customers and users and ensure the content meets their needs, including meeting or exceeding accessibility standards
  • Undertake explorative and validating user research to ensure needs are met
  • Write content for new and existing websites, custom applications, and third party applications
  • In some cases, will edit provided content to ensure web suitability
  • Publish content in the Content Management System
  • Work on agile and waterfall style projects
  • May train and support end business stakeholders

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communication, marketing, or other related field, or relevant combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience writing in a technical environment, such as technical writing or writing content for digital products including websites and applications
  • Enthusiasm and passion in working with a strong digital team to drive change and deliver results
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong knowledge of technology, insurance principles and processes is a definite asset
  • Experience in user testing and research, SEO and using SEO tools
  • Experience working on agile and waterfall projects, writing for a digital product an asset, and technical writing are assets
