Your every day with us:
The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for growing the Individual business by providing Life & Health solutions to new and existing customers, following an established sales process. For this position, you would be expected to work until 6 pm.

As a Direct Sales Representative, your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Selling Medavie Blue Cross insurance products, including Health, Life and Travel, capitalizing on sales opportunities from inbound customer calls, outbound calls resulting from leads, and face to face sales interactions in order to achieve sales targets;
  • Cultivating relationships with potential customers by advising how our products and services can benefit them using proven sales techniques to influence buying decisions;
  • Effectively probing to identify customer needs and formulate appropriate recommendations for product options. Use problem solving skills to find creative solutions to address client needs while providing a highly customer focused experience;
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with policyholders in order to retain their business and maximize sales opportunities and referrals;
  • Responding to client questions and concerns, including outbound follow-up activity, communicating final decisions before placement of policy and working with clients to resolve any post-sale service issues;
  • Ensuring that our sales team maintains a high Service Level while communicating with clients through telephone and email interactions;
  • Using systems and processes to efficiently manage leads and applications through all stages of the sales process;
  • Adapting to changing products and processes as our business evolves;
  • Demonstrating our corporate values through each interaction with clients and internal colleagues

What you need to succeed:

Education: Post-secondary education in Sales and/or Business or equivalent;

Work Experience: Minimum 2-3 years sales experience; some experience in Insurance, Call Center or Customer Service Environment

Other Qualifications:

  • Provincial Life, Accident & Sickness licenses ideal upon hire; otherwise LLQP program and Provincial exam successfully completed within 3 months of hire;
  • Valid driver’s license as some travel is required for training purposes

Computer Skills: Strong technical aptitude; you can navigate between multiple software applications simultaneously;

Language Skills: Bilingualism (French and English) is a requirement
