Job Summary

The Architecture and Integration lead is responsible for ensuring that the Tri-agency Grants Management Solution (TGMS) is aligned with agency needs, (NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR), Enterprise Architecture (EA) and that system integration requirements external to the TGMS are identified and addressed. Serves as the key point of contact, coordination, and leadership with the respective agencies’ Chief Information Officers (CIOs) to define the EA and integration requirements, ensure progress on these and related elements for the TGMS initiative. As the TGMS Champion for the corporate services view, the Director further ensures that the Councils’ corporate services function’s perspectives, insights and requirements are represented in the TGMS initiative.

Education

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

An undergraduate degree in a related field from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

A graduate degree would be an asset.

Experience

EX1. Sound**experience in promoting enterprise architectural concepts;
EX2. Sound** experience in enterprise architecture and integration of IT-enabled solutions;
EX3. Significant* experience in successfully developing, maintaining and working collaboratively and horizontally, with multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental stakeholders and communities of interest groups towards common resolutions of strategic issues and project implementations;
EX4. Significant* experience in building consensus, securing cooperation, negotiating and implementing recommendations consistent with organizational priorities from a harmonized tri-agency perspective;
EX5. Sound** experience with grants and/or contributions and peer review processes;
EX6. Sound** experience in managing human, financial resources;
EX7. Significant* experience in communicating complex issues and in developing and delivering well-developed options and recommendations to senior management.

*Significant is equivalent to three (3) and less than five (5) years of experience.
** Sound is equivalent to one (1) and less than three (3) years of experience.

Knowledge

K1. Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s digital strategy, principles and practices;
K2. Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices of computer science and enterprise architecture;
K3. Knowledge of the mandate of NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR, and their strategic priorities, programs and operations, as well as a broad understanding of the policy issues as they relate to government priorities;
K4. Knowledge of the business capabilities and processes of the grant management environment.

Abilities
